Assam: Media professional tests COVID-19 positive in Guwahati

A publisher of a Hindi daily from Guwahati, Assam, has been tested positive for COVID-19 on June 16^th, 2020. The publisher is associated with the Nishpakash Samachar, located at B Baruah Road in Guwahati.

However, confirmation from the government is yet to come.

Assam has recorded a total of 4319 confirmed cases; of which 2103 are active cases and 2205 have been cured and discharged while eight died due to the infection in the state so far. The state has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31^st, 2020.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 16^th, the country currently has 343K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 153178 active cases with 180013 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 9900.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 110744 corona cases with 56049 cured, 4128 deaths, and 50567 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 42829 cases with 16427 cured, 1400 deaths, and 25002 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 46504 positive cases with 25344 cured, 479 deaths 20681 active cases. Gujarat with 24055 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 16664 have been cured, 1505 deaths, and 5886 active cases.
