Assam Ministers Donate Their Salaries to Flood Victims

Guwahati, July 28, 2019:

Ministers and MLAs of Assam have come forward with donations towards flood relief in the State of Assam which has been hit by one of its worst floods in recent memory.

The Chief minister received a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh from Minister Shri Ranjit Dutta as his contribution towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in Guwahati.

Minister Pijush Hazarika also called on the Chief Minister and contributed his one month salary, Rs 1.25 lakh, towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund at the Assam Legislative Assembly, Guwahati.

Union Minister of State (Food Processing Industries) Rameshwar Teli also met the Chief Minister in Guwahati. Prevailing flood situation in Assam was discussed in the meeting. The union minister also contributed to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

The Chief Minister also received a cheque of Rs 1.25 lakh from Minister Shri Bhabesh Kalita as his contribution towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Dhekiajuli MLA Ashok Singhal also contributed Rs. 80,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Chabua MLA Shri Binod Hazarika and Moran MLA Shri Chakradhar Gogoi contributed Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 50,101 respectively to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Shri Chakradhar Gogoi also handed over a cheque of ₹ 21,000 to the CM on behalf of the Kushal Nagar Namghar
