Assam: Singer Nilotpal Bora not to receive award

Nilotpal Bora, nominated for the “Best Singer” in the Assam State Film Awards, 2018, has denied having received an invitation for the award function from organisers.

Nilotpal shared a video on his Facebook account saying that he was not sent any invitation for the award function and that he came to know about the award declaration from a friend.

“The organisers did not have the time to send an invitation or a message to me. I came to know that lodging facilities have been made for other nominees who reside outside Assam. As I am hurt by such behaviour of the organisers, I have decided not to receive the award,” he said.
