ASSAM: NRC STATE COORDINATOR UNSURE OF PUBLICATION DATES

A news which was doing the rounds that the publication of NRC has been postponed to 8th July and that the Central government would urge the Supreme Court for the extension of dates was slammed at by the State Coordinator of NRC. Speaking to INSIDE NE Hajela stated that he isn't aware of any such information. He stated "There is no such thing which I have told anybody. Timelines are decided by the Centre and nobody else. I have no idea what Central government or any other agency is doing. As per NRC is concerned the dates are decided by Supreme Court and we will give the dates and no other agency has right to give any dates." He stated that due to the dreadful flood situation in Barak Valley the updating process has suffered a setback and that efforts are made for the recovery.

Thus ahead of the much awaited NRC updation, the perplexion looming around.
