ASSAM: NSCN MILITANTS APPREHENDED IN CHARAIDEO DISTRICT

Guwahati, June 19, 2018:

In a yet another incident two NSCN (K) militants Angam Wangsu and Paras Gurung were apprehended.

While both were arrested by the security forces from Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh and Charaideo district in upper Assam during two separate search operations carried out since last evening.

 Angam Wangsu was arrested by the Longding Battalion of the army last from a hideout in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. It can be notified that Gurung who has been working for the NSCN (K) since 2016 was arrested by the security forces from Namtola area under Namtola police station in upper Assam's Charaideo district this morning. Both of them were involved in massive extortion for the NSCN(K)

It might be mentioned that a massive operation is underway in eastern Nagaland and adjoining eastern Arunachal districts. The following was a deadly ambush on a Assam Rifles patrol near Aboi in Mon district of Nagaland on Sunday afternoon. It can also be noted four Assam Rifles personnel were killed in the attack carried out by a joint team of NSCN (K) and Ulfa Independent.
