Assam Panchayat Poll | December 5 declared as a Public Holiday

Guwahati, November 30, 2018:

Governor of Assam Jagdish Mukhi declared December 5 to be a public holiday for the smooth conduct of the 1st phase Panchayat elections.

All Government, Non-Government offices, Educational institutions, Business Establishments including banks and tea garden industries will remain closed on the day.

All the offices in districts which will be hosting the Panchayat Polls will remain closed according to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs’ notification.

It may be mentioned that the Panchayat polls in Assam are scheduled in two phases on December 5 and December 9.
