DHUBRI: A massive operation was carried by Khoraghat Protection Ranger of Parbatjhora at a village called Tipkai of Kokrajhar, Assam, bordering Dhubri district and seized a tractor full of teak logs.

According to Khoraghat Ranger, Uttamananda Goswami, a team of Khoraghat forest protection and Tipkai staff jointly conducted the operation in the remote area of Tipkai at night after receiving secret intel.

A tractor was siezed during the raid that was loaded with pole-sized teak logs of 110 CFT. The driver of the tractor was able to flee from the spot under cover of darkness.

Later, eight to ten bike-borne timber mafia chased the vehicle of forest officials. However, the forest officials managed to handle the situation and the goons fled away.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the siezed tractor and further inquiry is underway, informed Ranger Uttamananda Goswami.
