GUWAHATI: Acting on an input the Assam Police have seized a whopping amount of 1.324 kgs of Heroin from the Sonapur area.
Guwahati Police Special Squad led by CP, Partha Sarathi Mahanta recovered a massive consignment of 100 soap cases of Heroin which was tracked from Moreh to Churachandpur and then till Sonapur where it was caught.

According to a statement released by the Police, the packets were ingeniously hidden under the front dashboard and inside the rear tail lights. The vehicle insides had to be opened up by specialist mechanics to get to the drugs.

Four persons were arrested identified as - Khaiminlal Touthang (34), Seiminthang Mate (37), Paominthang Lhanghal (30) and Kailalson Khongsai (35). All of the suspects are from Manipur.
Following forward linkages unearthed by the questioning of the arrested drug traffickers, the Special Squad immediately launched Operations in Guwahati City and apprehended the two receivers of the consignment identified as - Lulun Kuki (51 ) and Kamkhojim (56) of Manipur as well.
An investigation is still underway.
