Assam police busts stolen vehicle racket in Meghalaya; 3 nabbed

GUWAHATI: Assam police have nabbed 3 persons suspected of running a stolen vehicle racket in Assam and Meghalaya.

Yesterday night, in connection with Dudhnoi police station case No 65 /21 u/s 120(b)/413/468 /476/379/411 IPC, a team of Assam Police led by DySP (HQ) Goalpara and SI Sumit Talukder conducted searches at various places under Rajabala OP and Phulbari PS areas of West Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

Eventually, a stolen motorcycle and a Bolero pick-up vehicle were recovered from a gang of vehicle thieves.

Noor Alam, the leader of the racket, reportedly collected vehicles stolen from Assam and used to sale

Another accused, Rashidur Mandal, is reportedly an accomplice of Noor Alam and bought the stolen Bolero pickup vehicle.

A certain Rahmat Miya has also been apprehended for buying the stolen motorcycle from Noor Alam and his gang.

All the apprehendees are all residents of the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.
