DHUBRI: A massive operation led by Dhubri police along the Brahmaputra river at night in Dhubri district of Assam has led to the seizure of seven buffaloes.
Superintendent of police, Abhijit Gurav received a tip-off that a group of cattle smugglers obtained gear up to deliver a consignment to Bangladesh via Brahmaputra river after entering Dhubri district of Assam from West Bengal.

Based on this information, a police team led by Dhubri College Town Out Post officer-in-charge Chanakya Das and Gauripur police station officer-in-charge Nilumoni Nath raided a village in Majerchar at night and managed to seize seven buffaloes.
Meanwhile, the suspected cattle smugglers fled from the spot under cover of night, police personnel informed this correspondent.
