Tinsukia, June 3, 2019:

A commando of the Assam Police was stabbed to death on Sunday night at Makum in Tinsukia district by some unidentified miscreants.

It has been reported that the police commando identified as thirty-seven-year-old Girish Dutta was brutally assaulted and repeatedly stabbed to death. Dutta was attacked with sharp weapons while he was returning from a programme, Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad at Tingrai, Tinsukia.

According to Tinsukia locals, Dutta was attacked while he was returning back home after attending the Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad.

The sensational incident took place near the office of the 2nd Assam Police Battalion of Makum.

Meanwhile, the locals have staged a protest in the area and blocked the National Highway-38. They have demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the brutal killing of the Assam Police commando.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to nab the culprits behind this brutal murder.
