Assam Police Day celebrated with pomp and gaiety

Guwahati, October 1, 2018:

The Assam police celebrated its 68th Foundation Day, also called the Assam Police Day, at its 4th Battalion in Kahilipara on Monday.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the programme as the chief guest.

On the occasion, the Assam police organised an awareness programme on cyber crime, social media usage, drug abuse, mob lynching, superstitions and other issues prevalent in the state.

This year, the programme witnessed the participation of general public in great numbers. This is being seen as a step forward towards boosting the relation between the police and the general public.

Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia greeted policemen and expressed gratefulness to the people of Assam for their cooperation.
