Guwahati, February 25, 2019:

As Arunachal Pradesh continues to burn over the Government’s decision to grant PRC status to non-APSTs, the Assam Police has issued helpline numbers to people from Assam who are currently stranded in Arunachal Pradesh. The numbers are:

87498 60803 (Mobile)

0361 2381511 (Landline)

It has been reported that several non-Arunachalis walked to the neighboring Banderdewa town in Assam to escape the wrath of the angry mobs that have been clashing with security forces in Itanagar and Naharlagun.

Meanwhile, protestors have torched 150 cars and burned the house of Deputy Arunachal Pradesh CM Chowna Mein. CM Khandu, while assuring that the Bill to grant PRC won’t be tabled in the Arunachal Assembly, has convened an all-party meeting to reach a resolution regarding the issue.
