CHIRANG: The Assam Police yesterday seized four godowns of illegal ‘Burmese supari' (betel nuts) in Chirang district in four separate operations and arrested at least nine accused.
According to Chirang Police, the confiscated Burmese supari have a market value of Rs 10 crore.

"Last night at around 11 pm, four teams of Chirang Police led by the SP Chirang, ASP HQ DSP HQ & SDPO Bijni conducted 4 operations & seized 4 godowns of Burmese Supari market value of which is estimated to be Rs10 crores," the Chirang police tweeted after making the seizure.
Moreover, incriminating evidence such as bags with markings of foreign countries like Bangladesh and Myanmar were also seized along with CCTV Footages, etc from their possession.
