GUWAHATI: Bishal Choudhury, prime accused of the Kharguli Rave Party Case of Guwahati was shot by Guwahati Police while fleeing police custody on Saturday night.

He has sustained an injury in his left leg.

He was then admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati (GMCH) for medical treatment.

This was confirmed late Saturday night by Assam’s special DGP, GP Singh.

Bishal was arrested by Guwahati police on August 28 from Delhi.

He was accused of supplying drugs for a rave party last month at a residence in Guwahati's Kharguli Hills.

He was apprehended based on the confession of one of the main accused, Ashok Barman.

According to police Bishal was the supplier of cocaine from Delhi.

Bishal is currently being held at the Latasil Police Station for questioning.

Following a tip-off, Guwahati Police raided a rave drugs party in the Kharguli area, near Don Bosco Institute, on August 13 and arrested 18 people.

The party was held at the residence of businessman Vikash Jain on the third floor of Kharguli Riviera Apartments, and the guests came from wealthy families.

During the raid, cocaine, three types of marijuana, and opium were seized by the police from the premises.

case was filed against all 18 people at the Latasil police station.
