Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader Hagrama Mohilary addressing the media in Kokrajhar, Assam, has opined that former All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) President Pramod Boro, who recently quit the student body reportedly to begin a career in the political world, is likely to "lie" as a politician.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Hagrama said that Bodo often lied and said "bad" things, and will continue doing so. "What should the Bodo public do with Pramod Boro...that is our question. During his time with ABSU, he has said many bad things and lied constantly. Now that he will enter politics, he will lie even more. That is slowly being proven."
Offering the lone Rajya Sabha seat in the region to political rival U G Brahma, Hagrama once again exhorted the UPPL supremo to join the ranks of the BPF ahead of the Council elections. "Won't hand over the lone Rajya Sabha seat that we have to any other political party. Only by being a member of the BPF can U G Brahma become Rajya Sabha MP. My offer to him to join the BPF still stands."
Speaking along the lines of the recently signed Bodo Peace Pact, Hagrama said that the biggest take away from the pact is that peace has returned to the Bodo-dominated region in Assam. Hagrama further added that the region has not attained anything new and that the BTC will remain "as it is".
