Demow, August 29, 2019:

In a surprising development, officials of a Public Health Centre in Assam's Demow were caught red-handed consuming alcohol at the office premises.

The incident was reported by local reporters on Wednesday evening. Beer bottles were recovered from the Public Health Centre.

The health officials, BPM Ranjit Bora, BEE Uttam Bora, and the accountant Chandrajit Saikia, were caught red-handed having a party inside the conference hall of the health centre.

One of the officials said that he gave a party for my wife's success in a programme. While the accountant tries to escape by saying he came late and he does not know anything and there were having food in the hall.

All of them escaped from the site; however, the police took them to the Demow Police Station for an alcohol test.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that these officials have threatened the reporters for capturing the incident on cam. Following this, an FIR was lodged against them by one of the local news reporters.
