GUWAHATI: 75 more people infected with the deadly COVID-19 infection had died in Assam, taking the death toll to 1984.
On the other hand, 5468 fresh COVID-19 positive cases pushed the tally to 3,15,554 , while the active caseload in the state rose to 42,144.
Of the total new cases, Kamrup (M) recorded 1,173 new COVID-19 positive cases, while Dibrugarh reported 452, Kamrup (R) (431), and Nagaon 332 cases.

A total of 4,219 patients recovered from the disease during the day, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,70,079, with a recovery rate of 85.59 per cent.
Of the total new fatalities, 23 followed by Dibrugarh (7), five each in Kamrup (R) and Tinsukia, three cases each in Barpeta, Golaghart, Darrang, Karbi Anglong, Nalbari, and Sonitpur, two cases each in Bongaigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Udalguri and one each in Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Goalpara, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Karimganj, Lakhimpur and Morigaon districts respectively.

The death rate in the state currently stands at 0.63 per cent.
As many as 59,594 tests were conducted during the day with the positivity rate being 9.18 per cent.
The state has so far tested a total of 93,41,060 samples for COVID-19 .
Meanwhile, Assam has so far inoculated a total of 32,78,613 lakh people.
