Assam Rifles Apprehend PLA, NSCN Militants Ahead of I-Day

Mon, August 13, 2019:

Based on specific information regarding the movement of PLA cadre in general area Chenmoho, Mon, Troops of the Assam Rifles launched an operation on 11 August, 2019 and apprehended a PLA cadre called Narendra Loithongbam, aged 19 years. The cadre, along with recovered items, was handed over to the Mon Police Station for further investigation.

Meanwhile, based on specific input regarding extortion activity by cadres of GPRN NSCN (KN) in Ahthibung, troops of the Assam Rifles launched an operation on 11 August, 2019 and apprehended Self-Styled Lt Col Vitoye Sumi, Self-Styled Maj Hekaho Zhimo, Self-Styled Lt Paojangam Singon, Selt-Styled Sgt Lamkhup Singson and Self-Styled CPL Vikuto Chopy.

An extortion amount of Rs 20,000 in cash and other incriminating documents were recovered from them. The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Ahthibung Police Station.
