Assam Rifles recover arms, ammunition and other war-like stores in Mizoram

AIZAWL: In another major successful operation, Assam Rifles personnel recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and other war-like stores today.

The operation was carried out near Hmawngbu Village of Lawngtlai district based on specific information.

An operation was launched by Assam Rifles personnel from the Zorinpui post of Lunglei Battalion along with Police representatives stationed at Bungtlang outpost of Lawngtlai District on 19 August 2021.

The team had specific information on the presence of a cache in the jungle near village Hmawngbu, 3 km North of the Indo-Myanmar border. The Assam Rifles team alongwith

Police representatives carried out a detailed search of the area nearby and recovered a huge Cache of Arms, Ammunition, and other illegal items.

The recoveries made were 03 Pistols, 174 live rounds, 3 kg Explosive, 9 Detonators, and other stores including mobile phone modified IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).
