Locals of Cachar have handed over a Tipper truck loaded with sand to the Police alleging that the vehicle was used in illegal trading of sand.
According to the residents of Barjatrapur village of Assam’s Cachar district, the vehicle was coming from Karimganj and when they halted it in suspicion, the driver escaped the scene.

They have accused Karimganj DFO Jalnoor Ali, Range officer Pinku Singh and Beat officer Rahim Uddin Barbhuiya of helping the illegal trade of sand flourish in the area. They have also named Purandarpur as the “site of all illegal sand.”

The locals have handed over the Tipper truck to the Bhangarpar police station for further investigation.
