Assam Sattra Mahasabha Vice President  Akhil Mahanta and General Secretary, Kusum Kumar Mahanta who supported Citizenship Amendment Bill have been expelled today.

Lately, the controversies against the Assam Sattra Mahasabha General Secretary, Kusum Kumar Mahanta’s support to the Citizenship Amendment Bill during the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting held in New Delhi on April 17 where the subsequent denial of any such kind of support by the leaders of the Mahasabha in Assam, created a sensational revelation which was made when an official letter of support signed by the General Secretary of the Sattra Mahasabha to the JPC came into light on Saturday in Guwahati.

The General Secretary signed letter of the Mahasabha, Kusum Kumar Mahanta shows  the matter of providing citizenship to the Hindus from Bangladesh who have been residing in the state post partition. While following the controversy led Vice-President, Akhil Mahanta and General Secretary, Kusum Kumar Mahanta expelled from their posts.

Moreover, serious allegation charged against Kusum Kumar Mahanta accusing him of printing a fake official letter pad in the name of Sattra Mahasabha and submitting the same as a memorandum of support to the JPC.
