Assam: SBI main branch and its premises sealed after employees test COVID-19 positive in Dhubri

DHUBRI: Dhubri District Administration sealed the SBI main branch and its premises on Thursday after 8 employees tested positive for COVID-19.

It was informed that the samples of 29 employees of the Branch were taken on 27/12/2021 out of which 8 has been found positive. Later, on Thursday tests of all other employees were made out of which 4 more has been found Covid-19 positive.

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dhubri stated in an order that it is felt necessary to immediately seal the SBI Dhubri Main Branch premises as per SOP for COVID-19 in the interest of Public Health. It has also been informed that, the SBI Dhubri Main Branch premises where the COVID-19 positive persons were working December 29 is hereby notified as Containment Zone for 7(seven) days from Thursday.

Restrictions has also been imposed in the area, where in vehicles and persons have been restricted from entering and exiting the Containment Zone and Banking activities in the biggest bank of the district has been advised to be stopped.

Later, the family members of the employees were also tested and one 8 year old son of a employee was found infected informed Nazrul Islam, District Urban Health Coordinator, Dhubri.

Meanwhile, till time administration was preparing for keeping the infected persons on quarantine, four persons were found absconding.
