Assam: School for classes 9, 11 and degree 2nd year to resume from Oct 1

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today announced that the offline classes for Class 9, 11 and Degree 2nd year will resume from October 1.

Talking about the new SOP, The CM said that a new set of SOP will be issued in the upcoming days by the Education department regarding the resuming of classes.

Himanta Biswa further stated that decision regarding the reopening of cinema halls has not yet been taken and that the government will soon take a decision.

Schools in Assam for students of Class 10 of all government and private schools reopened on Monday after a long gap due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The government of Assam has allowed the schools to reopen while adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.

It may be mentioned that with the improvement of COVID-19’s situation, lower primary classes will also reopen soon in phases, said state Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
