A shocker jibed in when the special monitor of the NHRC, Harsh Mander resigned ahead of the publication of Second draft of NRC. Talking to Afrida Hussain, editor-in-chief of Inside NE, Mander stated that as a special monitor of NHRC, he visited the detention camps where the treatment served was inhuman. He stated that he drafted a report to NHRC for the authority to take the matter forward and make recommendations to both the state and the central government to act upon. He said " I documented the entire situation in details so that the situation before the NRC declated we have more humane response to people who will be detained. He stated that since the NHRC stated mum on the matter, the best thing he could do was to resign and to bring the report into public domain".
Thus such developments ahead of the publication of NRC and the perplexion surrounding the dates of it has has triggered apprehensions regarding the future propects of the indefinite detention and future expulsion of a person .
