Assam: Six agricultural officers depose before police

Six of the eight agricultural officers, who had secured the jobs by allegedly bribing the arrested former chairman of Assam Public Service Commission, appeared at the Dispur police station on Friday.

Not much was known about what transpired there but they were learnt to be interrogated by the police officers.

Earlier, altogether 19 officers were summoned by the police and eight of them were asked to depose on Friday. However, two of them did not show up. Those who turned up were Dhritiranjan Roy, Jayantajit Das, Alpana Deury, Saintjonny Jhohori, Jyotiban Dutta and Rukheshwar Timung.
