DHUBRI: An exhibition cum awareness programme on ‘Space Science and Technology’ for nation-building was held on Tuesday at B. N. College, Dhubri.

The programme was organised by North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Department of Space, Government of India, Umiam, Meghalaya and hosted by the Department of Physics, B. N. College, Dhubri on the occasion of celebrating the 75th Years of India’s Independence as well as commemorating the birth centenary of the great space scientist Vikram Sarabhai (1919-1971).

The primary objective of the programme was to popularise the space research among the students and make them aware about India’s contributions in space research in the upliftment of global community. The programme began with an inaugural speech delivered by Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty, Principal, B. N. College, Dhubri.

Hundreds of Students from B. N. College, Dhubri and nearby institutions participated in the exhibition. Various models related to Mission Chandrayaan were displayed and demonstrated to the students inside the mobile exhibition vehicle by the officials of the NESAC. In this connection, a poster presentation on space research facilities available in India was also organised in the occasion.
