ASSAM: STREET VENDORS EVICTED FROM FANCY BAZAR

Do you love street shopping? So Guwahatians! don’t you prefer Fancy Bazar for street shopping? But wait that would be just a dream from now onwards….. Hold on! The famous street point for shopping will now be a change. Yes, the 40 years oldest noted street shops that ruled the streets of fancy bazar now will be nowhere seen.

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation had declared the most busiest street of the city, the SS ROAD as ‘No Vending Zone’. The longest running garment shops are evicted and the famous fashion street has come to an end. The High Court after passing the orders, the district authorities evicted all the street shops leaving the streets of fancy bazar chaos free. A total of 230 shops were evicted by GMC while moving all of them under one shelter. On the other hand the vendors took out a protest with the objurgation to move the garment market to the old jail campus.
