In a press conference today, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Assam government will provide Rs. 20 thousand to 16, 944 students each who have passed with 75 percent marks in the high school leaving certificate (HSLC) examinations, 2020. The amount will be provided to the meritorious students under the Anundorum Barooah Award.

He further said, “Earlier laptops were provided to the students under this scheme. This year, we are giving Rs. 20 thousand each to 16,944 students. The students will get the money on September 12 or 13”
The government has already collected the bank details of the candidates with 75 percent or more marks.
