In the wee hours of Wednesday, a truck trailer carrying a consignment of illegal coal from Ledo in Assam's Margherita turned turtle in Tinsukia district of the same state.
The trailer bearing registration number RJ06 GC1823 fell off the road when the driver lost control. Later, it was discovered the the unfortunate driver had sustained severe injuries.
Meanwhile, the locals in the area have alleged that the trailer turned turtle as the vehicle was being driven in very high speed.
The driver of the vehicle, upon being interrogated, informed that the load was headed to Bihar and the truck met with the accident because he "lost his balance." He further informed that the coal is raw.

When dawn turns to dusk in Assam, illegal coal trade swings into motion. Right under the very noses of the local authorities, hundreds of trucks laden with illegal coal are seen playing along the Tinsukia-Makun bypass. The trucks are reportedly filled with coal at Ledo in Margherita and Kharchang in Arunachal.
