Assam | Twin Ugratara deities to be installed on May 23

Guwahati, May 12, 2019:

The authorities of Ugratara temple located in Assam's Guwahati city have informed that not one but two deities will be installed following the miraculous recovery of a deity which had been sold earlier.

An Ugratara Mahotsav was set to be organized to install a new deity at the centuries-old temple after the old one had been stolen in November, 2018, but miraculously, the old deity was recovered on May1, a few days before the new one was about to be installed. Now, the Mahotsav will begin on May and both deities will be installed on May 23.

Golaghat police made the breakthrough in the case and nabbed four thieves in Nalbari district of Assam.
