They were apprehended at Kathalguri village which falls under Pengri Police Station in Tinsukia. Two 7.62 mm pistols and nice rounds of ammunition were also nabbed from the insurgents.

The United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) is a militant outfit operating in the Indian state of Assam. It seeks to establish an independent state of Assam with an armed struggle in the Assam conflict. The Government of India banned the organisation in 1990 citing it as a terrorist organisation,[3] while the United States Department of State lists it under "other groups of concern."[
