TINSUKIA: Days after the surrender of United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) deputy chief Drishti Rajkhowa, another senior leader of the insurgent outfit -- Prantik Axom -- has also landed in the police net. The Second Lieutenant of the rebel outfit has been arrested from the Tinsukia-Pengeri region by a joint team of army personnel and police.

According to official reports, a pistol, live bullets, and incriminating items, which have all been seized by the security personnel. Prantik Axom is the head of the Justice-Administrative department.
Prantik's arrest is expected to come as a major setback to the insurgent outfit which has already been adversely affected by the exit of its Deputy Chief, Rajkhowa.

Drishti Rajkhowa alias Major Rabha surrendered on Wednesday with his 4 bodyguards to the Indian armed forces. It took 9 years for the Indian Army to convince the dreaded insurgent leader to surrender.
According to the Indian Army, a senior officer (name withheld) had been in contact with Drishti Rajkhowa, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of ULFA (I), and his wife (undergoing treatment at Guwahati presently) since 2011 when he was posted in Shillong.
He maintained contact during his consequent postings in North East as well and gradually developed a rapport with him over 9 long years and continued trailing and pursuing him.
