ASSAM: ULFA(I) CADRE APPREHENDED IN SIVSAGAR

In a joint operation by the Army and police, a dreaded cadre of United Liberation Front of Asom(I) was apprehended in Sivsagar district of Assam. The apprehended cadre has been identified as SS Pvt Navdeep Chetia.

One 9mm Pistol along with two rounds of ammunition, one mobile phone, and two sim cards were recovered from his possession. The arrested cadre has been handed over to Nemuguri Police station. The cadre was reportedly involved in extortion in the district besides recruiting new cadres for the banned outfit.
