ASSAM: WITCH HUNTING CONTINUES IN THE STATE

At a time when civilization has touched zenith, cases of superstition like witch hunting still exists in Assam. A family in Digboi district fell victim to such an incident today. The people attacked the family of three members. The family was alleged of having engaged in the practice of witchcraft.

Assam has witnessed more than 400 cases of witch hunting in the past five years. The people accused of witchcraft are either banished or even killed. Such social malice hampers the basic fabric of the society. It is high time the government take some resolution to discard such cases of superstition.
