DHUBRI: One Sohorban Bibi has been arrested by Gauripur Police for possession of 808 numbers illicit Pyeevon tablets and 24 Bolirex cough syrup bottles.
The operation by 10 members of the 48th battalion of CRPF along with Gauripur police station personnel led by OC Himakshi Nath, was conducted at South Tiamari Pt-II village based on secret information.
Police informed that the contraband tablets and cough syrups were seized from the possession of Bibi who was selling it from her residence.

Police informed that the accused was selling such addictive substances to the youths of the area.
The locals of South Tiamari area informed that the illegal business of drugs and addictive substances has ruined many youths of the area by making them addicted.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act and have been forwarded to Court, said OC Himakshi Nath.
