ASSAM: YET ANOTHER CASE OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON STUDENT

At a time when the entire state of Assam is witnessing innumerable cases of sexual harassment, another such heinous incident has come to the light. The incident took place when some miscreants in Paneri of Udalguri district tried to rape a girl on a  bridge over the Kulokhi river. According to sources, the girl is a student of the Assam Higher Secondary Board appearing for her first year examination. The miscreants tried to rape her in broad daylight on her way back from college. However, the victim somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the miscreants. Her family after being informed of the situation filed an FIR against the miscreants in Paneri Police Station. The Police has already started investigation into the matter and five of the suspected accused has already been detained for interrogation. The family members of the girl has demanded serious probe into the matter and justice to be meted out.
