Assam Youth Murdered in Chennai, Six Suspects Detained

Khumtai, January 30, 2020:

Six suspects have been detained in the murder case of a youth from Assam named Biren Kurmi in Chennai.

Kurmi, who hails from No. 1 Patiyapathar under Khumati Police station in Golaghati district of Assam, was allegedly murdered on Tuesday. He was working in a private company in Chennai and was found in a mysterious condition.

According to reports, the suspects are his colleagues at the private company. His family was informed on Wednesday about his murder and according to them, Biren was about to visit his home today (January 30).

In a telephonic conversation with his family, Biren had also mentioned that he had shopped clothes for his two sisters and his brother. The police have already detained the six suspects.

Further investigation is on. His family has demanded justice for their son.
