ASSAM: CACHAR POLICE ARRESTS KAMRUL ISLAM BARBHUIYA, THE CHIEF BEHIND THE BIKE LIFTING SCAM

To reveal the main behind the bike lifting scam in the region, Cachar SP special operation team conducted raid in the house of Kamrul Islam Barbhuiya.  The raid was conducted on 27th April at around 10 pm at Lekoi based on a secret information. They recovered the following things from his possession such as One handmade pistol, Two round live ammunition, Three nos master key, Various kinds of total 13 nos vehicle lock breaking tools, Some stolen parts of vehicles, Four nos Fake vehicle no plate MZ/05A/1841(2 NOS) AS/01/DC/8316 (2 NOS), One no plate of stolen vehicle AS/11/L/5031 (Pulsar), One Blue colour stolen pulsar m/cycle having fake no plate AS/11/D/9299 ,Chassis no: MD2A12DZODCA93187 and Eng No: JZCDA92196

During interrogation he confessed of being guilty. He is the main kingpin of bike lifting group of the entire Barak Valley. He is a notorious criminal involve in various crimes as he has been stealing m/cycles and vehicles since 2007 along with his group stolen almost 5000 m/cycles from Silchar to till date. He has also stolen almost 30 nos big trucks (12 wheeler) till date and sold the stolen bikes/vehicles at Jiribam, Aizawl and Patharkandi.

He has direct involvement in all the vehicle lifting cases and received all the stolen bikes from the bike lifters of entire Barak Valley and Guwahati. He need only 3 minute to stolen one m/cycle and 5 minute to stolen one big truck. He is also involve in Arms smuggling. He purchases  pistol from Dimapur by cost Of Rs. 25000 and sold them to the other bike lifters, drugs smugglers at cost of Rs. 55000.

In the year of 2007 he has stolen one medicine loaded big truck from Madhurband and sold it to Imphal of Rs 20 Lakh and has also committed 02 murder of (1) Victim Lutfur Rahman Choudhury of  saidpur in the year of 2013 and (2) victim Arul Islam Choudhury of Barohali in the year of 2007. He shoot them by pistol and snatched their m/cycles.

He also receive stolen Laptops/mobile phones from the local thieves and sold them. Till date he has stolen almost 20 Laptops. He is also a veteran drugs peddler and was engaged in so many bike lifters at Silchar, Hailakandi, Karimganj and Guwahati.
