Assam's CM Himanta ranked 2nd in management of COVID-19 crisis

GUWAHATI: Assam's chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been ranked the no. 2 Chief Minister in the nation in regards to COVID-19 management.

As per the ‘Mood Of The Nation’ survey conducted by India Today for the month of August 2021, Sarma is only topped by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has been ranked third in managing the Covid-19 pandemic efficiently.

For over one and half years, the Odisha Chief Minister’s management of the pandemic in the State drew praises from different quarters including the Niti Aayog.

India Today’s Mood of the Nation survey was conducted between July 10 and July 20, 2021, across 115 parliamentary and 230 assembly constituencies in 19 states —Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. A total of 14,559 interviews were conducted (71% rural and 29% urban areas) and 50% were face-to-face and 50% were telephonic interviews.
