Assam's Dima Hasao to get India’s first “Bamboo Industry Park”

Guwahati, September 4, 2019:

Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, North East India MDoNER Dr. Jitendra Singh on Wednesday announced that India’s first-ever “Bamboo Industry Park” will be set up in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.

Addressing the media, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, “In the first hundred days of the second term of the Modi government, we have decided to launch India’s first-ever “Bamboo Industry Park” in Diam Hasao district. Similarly, we are going to spend Rs 1,000 crore per day in North East.”

"Earlier under the DoNER ministry, start-up initiative was taken up to control the outgoing of youth from the North East. This has also attracted youth entrepreneurs and startups to invest in North East,” he added.

The minister is also hopeful that if things prevail like this, more development of Northeast regions will be achieved soon.
