Assam’s first-time MP makes it to India Today cover page

Guwahati, June 1, 2019:

Assam’s newly elected MP Pallab Lochan Das from the Tezpur Parliamentary Constituency makes it to the cover page India Today with the tag “THE NEW BRIGADE”.

The cover pic of the Magazine carries the picture of the politicians who have made their debut in the Lok Sabha Election 2019. In the picture, Assam’s former junior power minister Pallab Lochan Das was seen with Bengali actress turned politician Mimi Chakraborty and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, actor turned politician Amol Kohle, Ravi Kishan, Tejasvi Surya, and Chandrani Murmu.

In the article of the magazine by the editor in chief wrote, “Our cover story, The New Brigade’, put together by the India today team, gives you a snapshot of our new Lok Sabha. The sole factor binding various categories of first-time MPs, whether women or celebrities, is their winning prospects.

It is to be mentioned that Pallab Lochan Das has defeated the Congress candidate MGVK Bhanu in the Lok Sabha Election 2019 with a margin of 242841 votes.

Das was elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2011 and 2016 from Rangapara constituency. He became a minister in the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government in 2016. Formerly, he was with the Indian National Congress.
