Assam’s Goalpara district receives National Water Award

GOALPARA: Assam's Goalpara on Wednesday received the National Water Award for the Best district in the 'Water Conservation Category' in the National Water Awards Ceremony being held in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the Vice President of India and Awarded by the Jal Shakti Minister.

"This includes District’s works for RWH/Ground Water Recharge in AWCs, Purifiers in schools, the convergence of schemes with MGNREGA, Fisheries, Soil Conservation, Irrigation for creation of assets and livelihoods and conservation efforts at Urpad Beel," it was stated in a release.
