Guwahati, April 23, 2019:

At a time when the entire country is gearing up to choose the right leaders, a little kid has come up with a unique way of encouraging people to vote while working towards a greater cause.

A class 5 student, Suhan Mallick was running a campaign near Dispur Higher Secondary School polling station on Monday called "vote diyok gospuli upahar lowk" (cast your vote, and receive the gift of a sapling in turn).

Through his campaign, he has killed two birds with one stone. While encouraging people to vote, he is also combating the imminent threat of Global Warming.

Suhan has been running the campaign since he was a mere 7 years old. He believes planting more tree can save the earth.

Speaking exclusively to InsideNE, Suhan said, "I encourage people to plant trees during every festival. Only then, oxygen will be more and global warming will be less."

More power to this well-intentioned kid!
