ASTC announces different schemes to boost Revenue

Guwahati, February 14, 2019:

The All Assam Transport Corporation (ASTC) addressed the media today to announce several schemes which will benefit the people of Assam.

In the Assam budget, provision has been made for 1000 buses. For buying the first 500 buses, the Government has announced Rs. 500 crores. 25% of the capital will be given by the Government.

The ASTC has announced that it will also try to improve the conditions of the bus stop as well as try to improve the overall infrastructure in the state.

The ASTC has announced a slew of developmental projects in the region which will improve the economic condition of the organization while serving the best interests of the public at the same time.  The body has announced has that a tie-up with ONGC wherein 149 ASTC vehicles are being lent out, which will earn Rs. 1 crore in revenue every month. Further, the ASTC is trying to bring Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the state. The ASTC has also started construction on 17 petrol pumps in the state. Further, in Jio internet towers will be constructed in 36 bus stations in the state.

“The estimated revenue generated in December is 8.5 cr/month”, stated Anand Prakash Tiwari, Managing Director, ASTC.
