Bismita Gogoi demanded the Election Commission (EC) to take action against the responsible.

Moreover, pointing out the BJP’s Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia, Gogoi said that elections do not take precedence over human life. If someone cannot give life, he has no right to take the lives of others.

Earlier three cases of attack on Congress leaders were reported on Sunday.

Congress candidates were also attacked in the Thowra constituency, and in the Haflong constituency as well.

Following these attacks, Congress candidate for Patharkandi Assembly constituency, Sachin Sahoo along with other party workers hold a sit-in demonstration on the street in Patharkandi, Karimganj district.

BJP employees have continued to attack Congress candidates and leaders in various parts of Assam in the run-up to the State Assembly elections.

Gogoi alleged that despite all these elected-related violence in her constituency reported on a daily basis, EC is yet to take any action against the incidents.
