ATTSA stages protest demanding wage hike and ST status

The Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) on Thursday staged protest in Biswanath Chariali and Golaghat districts seeking wage hike for tea garden workers and tribal status for the community living in Assam.

Thousands of workers under the aegis of ATTSA banner staged demonstration seeking wage hike. The protesters raised slogans against the government for not fulfilling the demand to increase the minimum wage of the tea workers.

The protestors also burnt effigy of Member of Parliament from Tezpur Pallab Lochan Das.
