In a recent controversy, the state government have been alleged of selecting blacklisted companies to conduct different software and hardware related works for the eFT projects to identify the foreigners from the excluded people from the National Register of Citizens.
Under the eFT projects, 1000 Foreigners Tribunal will be set up to handle the cases of the people exluded from the NRC.
The eFT will recruit as many as 2,000 people including 50 judges for 200 FTs.
For the project, the state government have been alleged of selecting a blacklisted company named “Aptech”.
Speaking to Inside Northeast, Nodal Officer of the Project, Anand Prakash Tiwari said, “We have presented a transparent policy in the entire proceeding. The people who have been claiming about the blacklisted company, nobody knows them. The Allahabad High Court itself has recruited this company for conducting its examinations after locating its case following certain allegations. Even after that, the company was recruited in two major projects in Assam.”
Tiwari added, “The moment we came across the allegations, we set an inquiry into the matter and after conducting, the inquiry we did not find any proof. The company participated as general tendering procedure and was selected to the project in a transparent form. This is a common problem of claims and allegation among the tendering parties.”
He further questioned that if the alleging parties have the materials to prove, why don’t they approach the court? “With proper materials, approaching the court will serve as a better option to bring more transparency into the matter,” he added further.
