Awesome Assam Ambassador Priyanka Chopra 'Devastated' by Assam Floods

Guwahati, July 7, 2019:

'Awesome Assam' brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra has finally made a statement about the floods tormenting the State of Assam.

The star, who recently made international headlines when she sang hubby Nick Jonas' smash hit during a Karaoke session, has turned her attention to more serious issues now.

The international celebrity took to social media platform Twitter to express her concern. A tweet sent out from her profile read: "Extremely devastated by all the news coming in from Assam and other parts of India. It’s heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected."

The 'awesome Assam' ambassador also shared some links where people can make donations to those affected by the floods.

 

It may be mentioned that the 'Awesome Assam' ambassador Priyanka Chopra was facing a lot of heat on social media for staying mum about the ongoing floods in Assam.

Assam is facing a serious crisis as floods in the state have already claimed at least 17 lives and affected around 44 lakh. Scores of cattle and animals at Kaziranga National Park have also been killed in the disaster. As per reports, nearly 90% of the iconic National Park has been submerged under floods.
