Guwahati, December 9, 2018:

In yet another shocking incident, a number of ballot papers with votes cast in favour of panchayat election candidates were recovered from a garbage dump in Assam’s Darrang district on Sunday.

The ballot papers were recovered by the locals of Galandi village of Kharupetia. The votes were cast in favour of the Congress and the All India United Democratic Front at a polling station in No 2 Galandi Kash Prarthamik Vidyalay.

Even after the first phase of polling held on December 5, 30 ballot papers, with votes cast in favour of Congress and BJP candidates and undersigned by the assigned polling official, were recovered from a student In Biswanath.
